Club13 is delighted to introduce David Murray, Sports Rights, Broadcasting and Negotiating Expert to its upcoming event on Friday the 13th of April at Social 7, the Landing, MediaCityUK.

Murray has enjoyed over 20 years at the cutting edge of the media and sports business industry.

After graduating in 1987 from the University of Warwick with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Murray began employment as the Audit Manager for Cooper and Lybrand.

Following five years in the role he then moved to Hambros Bank as an Executive for two years.

Whilst he worked for both companies he was also the Treasurer/Chair for the Resource Information Services, a role which he served from 1992-2009.

After departing his job at Hambros, he worked solely for the RIS before bagging a job with the BBC in March 1999, officially becoming their Head of Sports Rights, thereby entering the sports media sector.

Whilst in his role for the BBC, in 2005 Murray also became the Sports Group Vice President for the European Broadcasting Union, where he had a role for four years.

In 2014, after 15 years working with the BBC, Murray departed to become the Director of the newly formed Fozmuz Limited.

Fozmuz Limited is a sports rights and business advisory service that along with his business partner, can boast over 50 years’ experience negotiating and contracting deals in the Sports and Media industry.

Since its formation, Murray has built up his personal experience, undertaking further roles including Sports, Broadcast and Negotiation Consultant for Shoosmiths and holding the position of Negotiation Course Tutor for Salford Professional Development to name a couple.

When it comes to experience, David has been at the top table of many of the UK’s major sports media negotiations and it is a real treat to have him join our star-studded panel to discuss all areas concerning Sport and Media.
